FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
Course Overview:
The Financial Management Workshop consists of seven “virtual” live classes introducing all aspects of homebuilding financial best practices . Classes are approx. 75 minutes in length, to be held on a consistent day and time each week (tbd) starting the week of October 16. All classes are recorded.
Scope:
SMA Stand-alone training ~and~ also a prerequisite for the SMA CFO & Controller certification Program
Curriculum:
Class 1: Income Recognition Methods in Homebuilder Accounting & Managerial Accounting Chart of Accounts. Overview Financial Reporting.
Class 2: P&L Metrics: Benchmarks for Success
Class 3: Balance Sheet Management & Cash Management Best Practices
Class 4: Using Purchase Orders to Job Cost and Track Job Budget to Actual Variances & VPO reporting. The King of the Homebuilder Financial Reports; The Gross Profit Report
Class 5: Madera CM Software to help track cash and even flow operations
Class 6: Budgeting for Operational Income & Expenses 101
Class 7: Review and learning assessment preparation
LEARNING ASSESSMENT: A comprehensive online exam will be available upon completion of the series. This test is optional for workshop-only attendees but required for those continuing on to the SMA CFO/Controller Certification Program.
