Workshop Description - This workshop is an intense two-day program dedicated to training production managers and front line construction superintendents on the very best practices in the management of new home construction. The program stresses development of a construction system through the key areas of:
- Developing a Construction Management System
- Time of construction
- Variance to job budget
- Quality and control
- Customer satisfaction
The program goes into great depth within each of these four areas covering skill sets such as time management, daily walks, service follow up, controlling job costs, best practices for effective trade scheduling, and much more. We place emphasis on how to do a great job of managing your time and creating a balance of priorities during your busy work day.
Audience – This workshop is intended for company owners, production managers and superintendents (sometimes referred to as construction managers) and assistant superintendents with direct responsibility of the construction of new homes. We strongly encourage the VP or operations or production manager(s) from each company to attend this conference at least once. Many of the things we teach make excellent continued training discussions for your weekly construction managers meetings.
Format – This is a two-day format, starting at 9 AM and concluding at 4:30 PM. Lecture, group discussion, role play and case study are all used in the course of the training day.
Special Workshop Inclusions – SMA hands out several examples of forms and procedures we feel are best practices within the home building industry.
This program can also be taught on-site with just your construction team. Please call 407-447-5209 to discuss having us come to you to teach this program.
"I just wanted to let you know that my superintendents came back to the office with a whole new outlook on how to do their job. They really enjoyed the training. A lot of what we are trying to do makes more sense to them now. Great job!"
